24 Weeks

We have another tooth!! :) We first noticed it yesterday (8/23). It is right next to the other one. Both are on the bottom center. (The first one is now peaking through pretty good. We can probably take a picture of it when he's smiling really big.) We have been SO lucky that his teething process hasn't been bad at all. [Knock on wood.] He's been a crazy drool monkey and has been a little cranky (cranky for him--he gets tired of walking around in his walker or sitting in one place for too long or he wants constant attention), but other than that, that's really it. He's still sleeping great (7pm-5am), hasn't had a fever [knocking on wood, again], and hasn't screamed. He hasn't been as hungry this week (after last week I was beginning to think he had a tape worm) and wants his Mommy a lot (he now reaches for me, which is so darn cute, but sucks when I need a little break).

Brooks learned a cute new trick this week: he loves LOVES to give kisses and hugs. His open-mouth full french kiss is a bit wet, but oh so darn cute... especially when he's really "trying" to give you one (he does it over and over and if you pull him away from you, he strains to get closer with his mouth open).

He is very close to sitting up by himself. He will sit upright for about 10-15 seconds, but will lean a little forward and hold himself up for long stretches at a time.

We head to Michigan next week (this time we're attempting to drive), so I'm sure there will be lots to report on his long car ride (and lots of pictures too!). I can't believe it's already almost Labor Day! Where did the summer go? (Don't get me wrong, I am ubber happy to bid farwell to these 110 degree days!)
